Curriculum Vitae: Tada-nori Goto, Ph.D.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Tada-nori Goto is a professor in Earth-Science Laboratory, Graduate School of Science, University of Hyogo. In 1997, he received his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Geophysics, Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University, based on his research on the land magnetotelluric surveys around seismogenic zones. After finishing his Ph.D thesis, he worked in University of Tokyo, and Aichi University of Education.
Since 2000, he started the marine researches as a researcher in Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology, one of the advanced marine research institutes in the world. Then, he was an associate professor in Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University from 2008 to 2019.

His research interests focus on marine/land geophysics for disaster mitigations, energy resource explorations, and environmental researches . The recent targets are resistivity structures around subduction zones and active faults, explorations of hydrocarbon reservoirs (including oil, gas, and methane hydrate) and seafloor metal deposits. Field experiments on seafloor/land are necessary for him but also developments of the measuring instruments, numerical simulations, data analysis technologies and interpretation techniques are also his major research themes.
